Colombia: Discover the Flavor

Day 1. Bogotá: Arrival in the City of Bogotá, assistance at El Dorado International Airport, and transfer to the hotel for check-in and accommodation.

Night of Partying at Andrés Carne De Res Chía (outside the City): Without a doubt, it is the most iconic place in Bogotá when it comes to great partying and gastronomy. In one of the best atmospheres, music, people, food, and drinks combine, making this place something very special and unique.

Includes: Airport-hotel transfer, private transportation, entrance, welcome drink and snacks, guide service, and local medical assistance card.

Duration: 6 hours.

Operating Days: Wednesday to Sunday and holidays. Minors are allowed until 20:00.

Day 2. Bogotá – City Tour + Monserrate: Breakfast at the hotel. At the agreed time, the City Tour of the historic center of Bogotá, also called “La Candelaria,” will begin. The tour includes a visit to the Gold Museum, where you will see about 34,000 pre-Hispanic gold pieces and over 25,000 pre-Columbian objects. Next, the Botero Donation will be visited, where works by the master Fernando Botero, an internationally recognized Colombian artist in different artistic techniques such as painting, drawing, and sculpture, are exhibited. The tour will continue with a panoramic tour of the Bolívar Square framework (The Primary Cathedral, Nariño House, Liévano Palace, and the Palace of Justice). Finally, there will be an ascent to Monserrate. Return to the hotel and accommodation.

Day 3. Bogotá – Visit to the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá: Breakfast at the hotel. At the agreed time, departure to the town of Zipaquirá (located 50 km from Bogotá, leaving from the northern part of the city), also called “Sabana de Bogotá.” Once in the town, the Salt Cathedral, built within a mine at 180 meters depth, will be appreciated. It is considered one of the most important wonders of Colombia (a great work of engineering and religious art). Every step in the Cathedral will surprise you. During the tour, you will reach the balcony and see the largest underground cross in the world, measuring 16 meters high by 10 meters wide. Return to the city of Bogotá and accommodation.

Day 4. Bogotá – Departure to Cali: Breakfast at the hotel. At the agreed time, transfer to El Dorado International Airport to take a flight (not included) to Cali (it is recommended to take a flight before 8:00 am). Arrival and reception at Alfonso Bonilla Aragón International Airport. Check-in at the chosen accommodation.

At the indicated time, we start a walking tour and visit the most iconic places in the city such as the San Antonio Church, the Maceta Monument, the Litografía Lantern, La Merced Church, Jairo Varela Plaza, Paseo de las Gatas, the Obelisk, and La Tertulia Museum. We continue with a gastronomic experience where we will enjoy a 3-course menu based on the concept of signature cuisine from Valle del Cauca and Colombia. Tasting a typical drink and experiencing a typical Valle del Cauca afternoon with the traditional drink Lulada. To finish, we will have a cultural experience accompanied by author cocktails with authentic and traditional regional preparations. Return to the hotel and accommodation.

Day 5. Cali – Typical Valle del Cauca Cooking Class: Breakfast at the hotel. At the indicated time, we start our program with a cultural and gastronomic tour. We will have a unique cultural experience touring the Alameda Gallery and delighting in the exquisite flavor of the region's exotic fruits. Here, with the help of a chef, we will select the ingredients for two typical dishes of Valle del Cauca cuisine. Valle del Cauca typical cooking class – we will learn the techniques of traditional cuisine and how to prepare two typical dishes: shrimp encocado and Valle del Cauca atollado. Then we will continue with a salsa tour and visit the most representative salsa places such as Jairo Varela Plaza and the Jairo Varela Museum of Grupo Niche. Afterwards, we will enjoy a guided salsa class with dancers from the famous Swing Latino group. Live salsa show. To finish, we will have a unique and unforgettable experience at El Mulato Cabaret salsa show. We will marvel at a night of swing with the salsa dancers from the renowned Swing Latino school in an incredible live show. Return to the hotel and accommodation.

Day 6. Cali – Shopping Tour: Breakfast at the hotel. At the agreed time, the tour will begin with a gastronomic experience where we will enjoy an exquisite lunch representing traditional Valle del Cauca cuisine in a 5-course menu. To finish, you will have time for a shopping tour with a free three-hour tour of Chipichape Mall to explore and shop. Return to the hotel and accommodation.

Day 7. Cali – Departure to Cartagena

Breakfast at the hotel. At the agreed time, transfer to the Alfonso Bonilla Aragón International Airport to take a flight (not included) to Cartagena (it is recommended to take a flight before 10:00 am). Arrival and reception at the Rafael Núñez International Airport. Check-in at the chosen accommodation.

In the afternoon, we will explore Cartagena’s cuisine, discovering the secrets behind three emblematic dishes while learning to cook with authenticity and flavor, under the instructions of a professional chef.

First dish: Coconut rice and posta negra: Discover the magic of combining rice with the exquisite touch of coconut and the intensity of posta negra. A delicious blend of flavors that captures the essence of Cartagena cuisine.

Second dish: Boronía: Let Boronía transport you to the very essence of Cartagena. Learn to mix the perfect ingredients to create this traditional dish that reflects the region's unique culinary heritage.

Third dish: Patacones and shrimp: Immerse yourself in the culinary creativity with patacones and shrimp, a fusion of flavors where patacones become the star ingredient. Discover how to transform simple ingredients into an extraordinary culinary experience.

Day 8. Cartagena – Rosario Island (Isla del Encanto) on a shared service:

Breakfast at the hotel. At the indicated time, assistance at the hotel and transfer to the Bodeguita dock to take a speedboat that will take us to the Rosario Islands (approximately 45 min) appreciating along the way a panoramic view of Cartagena Bay and Bocachica, in addition to a beautiful landscape with the forts of San Fernando and San José. Skirting Barú Island, we will arrive at the base island in the Rosario Islands to enjoy its crystal-clear waters. There, you can do tank dives or snorkeling (additional cost). Free time to enjoy the sea and the facilities. In the afternoon, return to Cartagena. Transfer to the hotel and accommodation.

Day 9. Cartagena - Shared City Tour:

Breakfast at the hotel. At the agreed time, we will begin the panoramic tour in an air-conditioned transport unit. Discover the rich history of Cartagena de Indias in our shared tour in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle, accompanied by an expert guide and other travelers from different corners of the world. We start at the safe bay of Cartagena, followed by a panoramic view in the quiet neighborhood of Manga, with its republican architecture. Explore the imposing San Felipe de Barajas Fortress, the greatest colonial fortification in America. Then, immerse yourself in the historic and walled center, with time to shop for handicrafts and a revealing walk through the streets and plazas full of history.

Transfer to Rafael Núñez International Airport to take the return flight (not included) home. (It is recommended to take a flight after 3:00 pm).
